International Greenscapes
The Mediterranean olive is our most requested species. Its characteristic gnarled trunk, expansive canopy, and timeless silhouette make it one of the most versatile trees in commercial design, equally at home in a historic glass atrium, a Las Vegas restaurant, or an outdoor patio. At International Greenscapes, we fabricate custom artificial olive trees for commercial projects across the country, built to specification and engineered to last.
Trusted by hospitality, retail, and design teams across North America | 20,000+ successful projects
Every space is different. We offer three distinct fabrication approaches for commercial artificial olive trees, each suited to a different set of project requirements.
Hand-sculpted over a welded steel armature. Each trunk is carved by artisan sculptors using silicone molds taken from real olive trees. Sizes up to 50+ feet. Fabricated by NATUREMAKER™, an International Greenscapes company.
Built on a real preserved olive trunk with a custom-crafted canopy. Delivers genuine bark texture and character that fabricated trunks approximate but cannot fully replicate. Fabricated by PLANTWORKS™, an International Greenscapes company.
Synthetic construction throughout. Best suited to outdoor exposure, high-humidity environments, or projects requiring consistent, repeatable results across multiple locations. Fabricated by TREESCAPES™, an International Greenscapes company.
The olive’s form and visual weight make it one of the more adaptable species in commercial biophilic design.
These are the refined commercial interiors where its quiet weight and sculptural form feel most intentional.
Olives create an immediate sense of place in dining environments, referencing Mediterranean courtyard gardens without the maintenance overhead. See our work at CATCH Las Vegas, Vanderpump à Paris, and JOEY Newport Beach.
A large-canopy olive reads as an architectural anchor in double-height lobbies and glass atriums. The branching pattern fills vertical space without blocking sightlines.
Restoration Hardware has used our Mediterranean olives across multiple locations, including RH Chicago’s Three Arts Club atrium and RH West Palm Beach.
Our fully fabricated olive trees are engineered for exterior use, with UV-inhibited foliage and weather-resistant construction. The JOEY Newport Beach project features an outdoor olive assembled on a recessed mounting base concealed in the patio floor.
A 22-foot NATUREMAKER™ olive tree is the centerpiece of Ledger Bentonville, the world’s first bikeable building. Trees of this scale serve as gathering points and visual anchors in open-plan workspaces.
High-traffic, high-visibility environments with strict fire code requirements. Our inherently fire-retardant foliage meets NFPA 701, California Title 19, and ASTM E84 Class A standards.
The Mediterranean olive has one of the most distinctive trunk profiles in commercial design, deeply furrowed, knotted, and irregular. Our NATUREMAKER™ sculptors use silicone molds taken from actual olive trees to stamp genuine texture into hand-carved polymer compounds. No two trunks are identical.
Our UltraLeaf-IFR® foliage system is engineered to 87% botanical accuracy. Olive foliage is characterized by its narrow silver-green leaves and soft, layered canopy. We replicate the density and drape of a mature tree canopy, not a uniform ball of greenery.
We design planters to match your architectural features. The RH Chicago project, for example, integrates custom planters that complement the building’s historic brick archways and European-style fountain.
All International Greenscapes artificial olive trees are engineered to meet or exceed commercial building codes. This is non-negotiable for casino, airport, hospitality, and public assembly environments.
We provide stamped certifications for fire marshals and building inspectors, ensuring smooth permitting and occupancy approvals.
For exterior patios, terrace dining, hotel pool decks, and retail streetscapes, our fully fabricated olive trees are built for outdoor conditions.
UltraLeaf-X® UV-inhibited foliage uses UV stabilizers bonded into the material, not a surface coating. The result is fade resistance under sustained direct sunlight, with a colorfast guarantee for exterior applications.
Additional outdoor engineering includes:
Our artificial olive trees can be fabricated in three structural configurations depending on your architectural conditions and design goals.
Freestanding. The most common format. Trees stand independently on base plates anchored to the structural slab. Appropriate for most interior and exterior applications.
Column-wrapped. One of NATUREMAKER™’s signature engineering approaches. The tree’s steel armature wraps existing structural columns, transforming a utilitarian concrete or I-beam column into a biophilic feature. This is particularly effective in large-span lobbies or older buildings being retrofitted.
Wall-mounted. Trees that appear to grow from walls or vertical surfaces. Effective where floor space is limited but vertical presence is needed.
For projects requiring lighting integration, our steel-core trees can accommodate uplighting within root structures, programmable LED systems in the canopy, and concealed speakers or A/V equipment within the trunk.
We review your project brief, space dimensions, and design goals. No charge for consultation, preliminary concepts, or design work.
We recommend trunk style, canopy spread, and height based on your architectural volume and intended visual impact.
Our team produces renderings for your specific space. We iterate as many times as needed until the design is right.
Structural calculations, fire certification documentation, and engineering stamps prepared for your building department.
Trees are fabricated at our American studios. Minimum lead time is three months from design approval.
Our assembly crews coordinate delivery and handle on-site assembly, secure anchoring, and finishing. We work within your construction schedule to minimize disruption.
We fabricate trees from approximately 6 feet up to 50+ feet. Standard interior trees typically range from 12 to 20 feet. For larger architectural volumes, our NATUREMAKER™ steel-core trees can exceed 30 feet with full canopy spread. The Ledger Bentonville project features a 22-foot olive tree with a matching 22-foot canopy.
A steel-core tree (NATUREMAKER™) is built entirely from custom-fabricated materials, with a welded steel armature and hand-sculpted polymer trunk. It is appropriate for any size and can integrate lighting and A/V equipment. A natural wood trunk tree (PLANTWORKS™) uses a real preserved olive trunk as the base, which delivers genuine bark texture but limits customization in trunk shape and size. Natural wood trunks are typically best suited for spaces where a smaller, more naturalistic tree is the goal.
Yes. Our fully fabricated trees from TREESCAPES™ are engineered specifically for exterior use, with UltraLeaf-X® UV-inhibited foliage, weather-resistant trunk coatings, and wind load engineering. The JOEY Newport Beach patio project is one example of an outdoor artificial olive we have built and assembled.
Our foliage uses inherently fire-retardant (IFR) polymers, meaning fire-retardant protection is built into the material at the molecular level. It cannot wash off or degrade. We carry certifications for ASTM E84 Class A, NFPA 701, California Title 19, and the U.S. Government SIN-494-4 federal code. Stamped certifications are provided for fire marshal review.
Minimum lead time is three months from design approval to delivery. Complex or monumental projects may require longer timelines. Priority projects for high-profile events can be expedited.
Yes. We collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, and project managers. We integrate with CAD drawings, coordinate with other trades, and provide engineering documentation for building departments. Design services, renderings, and mockups are complimentary until an order is confirmed.
Minimal. Occasional dusting with compressed air is typically sufficient. No watering, pruning, or seasonal treatment is needed. We provide touch-up kits for minor bark repairs, and our assembly crews are available for any post-assembly support.
Many projects can be reconfigured or relocated. Large sculptural trees may require specialized handling. We advise on relocation feasibility during the design phase.
The Mediterranean olive is the most requested species we fabricate. Whether you are specifying a single statement piece or outfitting a multi-location rollout, our team will walk you through options, sizing, and design at no charge.
