International Greenscapes
Schools, libraries, and educational institutions face a unique challenge: creating inspiring, nature-filled environments that can withstand heavy daily use by children and students, all while meeting strict safety codes. International Greenscapes designs and fabricates custom botanical art engineered for exactly these conditions, from interactive climbing trees to sculptural statement pieces for library atriums.
Trusted by children’s museums, science centers, and educational institutions across the country.
NATUREMAKER® artisan-crafted trees built on welded steel armatures. Scaled from accent pieces to monumental 40-foot centerpieces for atriums, lobbies, and large gathering spaces. 87% botanically accurate with hand-sculpted bark textures.
Climbable, walk-through tree structures engineered for high-traffic children’s environments. Integrated walkways, platforms, slides, and tactile elements encourage hands-on learning and active play in a safe, controlled setting.
PLANTWORKS® custom-designed green walls and moss panels that transform corridors, reading nooks, and common areas. Modular panel systems sized to any wall dimension with integrated lighting options.
PLANTWORKS® preserved real wood trunks paired with artisan-crafted foliage for libraries, media centers, and office areas. Authentic organic texture at a smaller scale, typically 6 to 16 feet tall, with adjustable canopy density.
Statement trees that greet students, parents, and visitors with a memorable first impression and reinforce your school’s identity.
Canopy trees and green walls that create calm, nature-filled reading environments with zero risk of water damage to books and collections.
Interactive treehouses and climbing structures built for daily use by children, engineered for safety and durability in high-traffic spaces.
Species-accurate botanical sculptures that serve as educational tools, teaching students about tree biology, regional ecosystems, and conservation.
Natural trunk trees and foliage groupings that soften large cafeterias and multipurpose rooms without adding maintenance burden to facility staff.
UV-resistant trees and palms fabricated for long-term outdoor use, providing shade and visual impact in courtyards, drop-off areas, and campus walkways.
No watering, fertilizer, pruning, or pest control. The only upkeep is occasional dusting with compressed air, freeing facility staff to focus on what matters.
RoHS-compliant materials with low-VOC emissions and no allergenic compounds. Safe for classrooms, libraries, and any space where children spend extended time.
Fire-retardant chemicals are bonded into the material at the molecular level, making protection permanent. It will not wash off, wear away, or degrade over time.
Engineered on welded steel armatures to withstand years of daily contact in busy school and library settings without visible wear or structural compromise.
Libraries housing rare books, archives, or electronics benefit from botanical elements that require no irrigation, eliminating leak and moisture risks entirely.
Products can contribute to LEED certification goals through recycled steel content (75%), zero water consumption, and regional manufacturing in California, Nevada, and Florida.
We replicate virtually any tree species to match your design goals, regional character, or curriculum theme. Common choices for educational environments include:
Majestic forms with dense canopies. Available as freestanding, column-wrapped, or fully interactive climbable structures for learning spaces.
Spreading canopy systems with dramatic aerial roots, ideal for multi-story atriums. Column-cladding trunks create immersive, walk-through environments.
Our most popular species. Gnarly trunks and expansive canopies bring warmth to libraries, lobbies, and smaller-scale reading areas.
Evergreen forms suited to nature education. Bristlecone pines offer a compelling story about ancient ecosystems and tree longevity.
Modular preserved moss and mixed-foliage vertical gardens designed for any wall dimension. Lightweight panels allow phased assembly across campus buildings.
Schools and libraries are high-occupancy public spaces with strict safety requirements. Every International Greenscapes product is engineered to meet or exceed applicable commercial building codes.
NATUREMAKER® structures go beyond aesthetics. Projects like the interactive 40-foot Oak at Michigan’s Outdoor Adventure Center and the two-story Banyan at the Golisano Children’s Museum in Naples, FL demonstrate what’s possible when botanical art meets functional engineering for educational spaces.
Share your project vision, timeline, and any preliminary sketches. Our team provides a complimentary consultation to understand your space and goals.
We create renderings, 3D composites, and material samples so you can see the finished result before fabrication begins. Iterations at no charge.
Our team provides structural calculations, seismic documentation, and fire safety certifications to support your building department's permitting process.
Certified welders and artisan sculptors hand-build your project at our facilities in San Marcos, CA (San Diego Area), Las Vegas, NV, or Miami, FL.
Our crews deliver, assemble, anchor, and finish your project on-site with minimal disruption to your operations or academic schedule.
Yes. All International Greenscapes products use RoHS-compliant materials that are non-toxic and non-allergenic, with low-VOC emissions safe for indoor air quality. Our foliage uses Inherently Fire Retardant (IFR) polymers, where fire-retardant chemicals are bonded into the material at the molecular level. This means fire protection is permanent and cannot wash off or degrade. We provide stamped certifications (ASTM E84 Class A, NFPA 701, California Title 19) for fire marshals and building inspectors.
Essentially none. Occasional dusting with compressed air is all that's needed. There is no watering, fertilizer, pruning, or pest control involved. We provide touch-up paint kits and cleaning guidance for long-term care. For schools and libraries with limited maintenance budgets and staff, this eliminates an entire category of ongoing operational expense.
That depends on the design. NATUREMAKER® builds fully interactive, climbable tree structures engineered to withstand daily use by children. These structures can include walkways, rope bridges, platforms, and slides, all load-tested for safety. We also create trees intended as visual focal points that are not designed for climbing. During the design phase, we work with your team to determine the right approach based on how the space will be used.
The minimum lead time for custom trees is three months from design approval to delivery. Complex or monumental structures may require additional time. We coordinate closely with your construction or renovation schedule and recommend reaching out during the design development phase so we can align on timelines early.
NATUREMAKER® trees are 87% botanically accurate, with bark textures hand-sculpted from molds taken from real tree specimens. Foliage is placed to replicate natural density and growth patterns. Clients consistently report that visitors cannot tell these are artisan-crafted. We encourage scheduling a showroom visit at our San Diego, Las Vegas, or Miami locations to experience the craftsmanship firsthand.
Yes. International Greenscapes products can contribute to multiple LEED credit categories, including recycled content credits (75% recycled steel in steel-core construction), materials reuse credits, regional materials credits (manufactured in California, Nevada, and Florida), and water efficiency credits (zero irrigation required). TREESCAPES® preserved products can qualify for up to 90% of purchase price in LEED credits.
Yes. We provide structural engineering calculations stamped by licensed engineers, fire safety certifications, material testing reports from independent laboratories, seismic compliance documentation, and load analysis specifications. Your team or general contractor handles permit submission, but we supply everything needed to support that process.
