International Greenscapes
NATUREMAKER™, an International Greenscapes company, has hand-sculpted custom birch trees since 1983. Each Steel Art Tree™ is commissioned to your exact specifications, available in single and multi-trunk configurations, from modest interior accents to monumental pieces exceeding 50 feet tall.
Commissioned by Fortune 500s, luxury hotels, and public institutions since 1983.
A clean, architectural form suited for corridors, designed alcoves, and lobbies where a single sculptural presence reads more clearly than a grove. White bark and high canopy contrast beautifully against glass and steel interiors.
Clustered trunks create a naturalistic grove, ideal for hotel lobbies, corporate atriums, and sky gardens. Each trunk is individually sculpted, giving the grouping an organic quality that feels grown rather than placed.
Birch foliage is available in spring green, autumn gold, and bare winter branch configurations. Canopy density and spread are customized to your ceiling height and architectural sight lines.
Multi-trunk birch configurations fill double-height atriums naturally. White trunks and high canopies bring organic contrast to glass and steel corporate environments.
A birch grove transforms a check-in experience into an arrival moment. Scalable from a feature accent to a multi-story statement, birch suits a range of lobby aesthetics.
The calming quality of birch bark suits spas, fitness centers, and healthcare healing gardens, where biophilic design elements contribute to a restorative environment.
NATUREMAKER™ birch trees have been commissioned as public art in award-winning commercial buildings, from airports and museums to high-rise corporate towers.
Birch trees can be fabricated for exterior applications with UV-inhibited foliage, suited for rooftop terraces, resort pool decks, and outdoor dining environments.
No watering, pruning, or seasonal replacement. These trees look the same on day one and day 1,000. Occasional dusting with compressed air is all that is required.
Bark textures are hand-carved from molds taken from real birch specimens. Leaf placement follows natural phyllotaxy, the same growth patterns found in living trees.
Every tree is built to your project specifications, from modest interior accents to monumental pieces exceeding 50 feet. No catalog, no inventory. Each piece is commissioned.
All foliage is available in IFR materials meeting ASTM E84 Class A standards. The fire resistance is built into the material. No topical treatment required.
Steel armature construction by certified welders supports large canopies safely for decades. Structural and seismic documentation is provided for large-scale projects.
Every NATUREMAKER™ birch tree is fabricated at our facilities in San Marcos, California or Las Vegas, Nevada, by certified welders, artisan sculptors, and scenic artists.
Every tree is custom fabricated to your project specifications. Common configuration parameters are listed below.
Custom fabricated to any height. Completed birch projects range from feature-scale accents to 36-foot atrium centerpieces.
Single-trunk and multi-trunk cluster arrangements available, with each trunk individually hand-sculpted.
Canopy dimensions are scaled to ceiling height and floor plan. Completed projects feature canopies spanning up to 24 feet.
Spring green, autumn gold, and bare winter branch configurations available. Canopy density adjusted to architectural sight lines.
Polychromatic glazing replicates natural birch coloring. Multiple translucent layers are applied by scenic artists for depth and aging effects.
Inherently Fire-Retardant (IFR) foliage is available on all configurations, meeting ASTM E84 Class A standards.
NATUREMAKER™ trees are engineered to meet commercial building code requirements. All foliage materials are independently tested and certified before any project ships.
Monumental birch trees in multi-story environments require structural engineering well beyond aesthetics. NATUREMAKER™ provides seismic compliance documentation, structural calculations, and load analysis for every large-scale project, including high-rise sky gardens and hospital atriums.
We review your architectural drawings, discuss your vision, and recommend species, scale, and configuration. There is no charge for this phase.
Our team develops photorealistic renderings showing the trees in your actual space. We refine the design through as many iterations as needed until it is right.
Structural calculations, seismic documentation, and code compliance are prepared alongside a detailed, itemized proposal with a fixed total investment.
Certified welders, artisan sculptors, and scenic artists fabricate your tree at our California or Nevada facility. We conduct quality inspections at each production phase.
Our crews handle delivery, anchoring, and final canopy dressing. A quality walkthrough confirms every detail before handover, with maintenance guidance included.
NATUREMAKER™ birch trees are 87% botanically accurate. Bark textures are hand-carved from molds taken from real birch specimens, and leaf placement follows natural phyllotaxy, the same growth patterns found in living trees. Polychromatic glazing layers multiple translucent tones to replicate the natural variation in birch bark coloring. Up close or across a lobby, the realism is built to hold.
Every NATUREMAKER™ birch tree is custom fabricated to your project specifications. Completed birch projects range from feature-scale interior pieces to monumental trees like the 36-foot birch at the Walton Family Whole Health and Fitness facility in Bentonville, AR, which features a 24-foot canopy. There is no catalog. Each tree is scaled precisely to your architectural volume and ceiling height.
Yes. All foliage is available in Inherently Fire-Retardant (IFR) materials that meet or exceed ASTM E84 Class A standards for flame spread and smoke development. Our trees are also compliant with NFPA 701, California Title 19, and the U.S. Government SIN-494-4 federal flammability code. These certifications are required for most commercial environments, including hotels, hospitals, airports, and public buildings. Full documentation is provided with every project.
Yes. NATUREMAKER™ has completed high-rise birch tree projects in multi-story sky gardens and corporate atriums. The Bow in Calgary features multi-trunk birch trees ranging from 22 to 30 feet in sky lobbies on the 24th, 42nd, and 54th floors of one of Canada's tallest towers. We provide complete seismic compliance documentation, structural engineering calculations, and load analysis, and our assembly teams coordinate logistics with your facility and construction managers.
With minimal maintenance, NATUREMAKER™ trees are built to last decades or more. The steel inner-core construction is fabricated by certified welders, and finish glazes are designed to maintain their appearance over decades. The only routine upkeep is occasional dusting with compressed air. We also provide touch-up kits for minor bark repairs, and our support team can assist with any more significant issues that may arise.
The minimum lead time from design approval is three months. More complex or monumental projects may require longer production schedules. We coordinate closely with your construction timeline and provide regular updates throughout production. If you have a hard deadline, raise it during the initial consultation so we can explore scheduling options. High-priority projects may be eligible for expedited production.
Yes. There is no charge for the initial consultation, design work, 3D renderings, or mockups. For appropriately scaled projects, we work through as many design iterations as needed to get it right. Once you approve the proposal and confirm your order, production begins. Nothing is billed for design or consultation prior to that point.
