Miami, FL –
Located in the heart of Miami’s Dadeland business district, the Datran Center is a striking twin-tower commercial complex known for its sleek architecture and premier office environment. To complement its soaring atrium and refined interiors, Plantworks and Treescapes were commissioned to transform the building’s public and corporate spaces through a comprehensive biophilic design strategy that softens the surrounding stone, glass, and steel with layered botanical elements.
The scope of work spanned both ground-level and mezzanine areas, as well as lobbies and common spaces throughout the building. The installation features lush, trailing green walls and balcony-edge greenery; architectural-grade planters with varied heights and textures; and grasses with low-profile foliage at the escalator base to frame the centerpiece sculpture. Strategically placed fabricated treeforms—designed with ultra-realistic foliage and naturalistic branching—add scale, warmth, and organic contrast while echoing the vertical energy of the space without obstructing sightlines.
All greenery was selected for durability and ease of maintenance, incorporating UV-resistant materials well suited for high-traffic, climate-controlled indoor environments. Together, these installations transform the lobby from a transitional corridor into a calming arrival experience, enhancing the overall sense of wellness, balance, and upscale hospitality. By integrating greenery across both vertical and horizontal sightlines, the Datran Center elevates the tenant experience and demonstrates how thoughtfully designed botanical elements can serve as both visual anchors and wellness enhancers in contemporary commercial office settings.
