Naturemaker

Fresno Yosemite International Airport

Fresno, CA

Blending art, architecture, and the awe of nature, NatureMaker’s Sequoiascape at Fresno Yosemite International Airport reimagines the terminal as a living monument to California’s iconic giants. Towering 25 feet high, the column-clad sequoias were custom-engineered to wrap existing infrastructure, transforming the concourse into a cathedral of natural wonder.

Passengers are invited to meander through a forest trail experience that includes not just the massive sequoia trunks, but a meticulously detailed understory of sapling pine trees, boulders, native plantings, and interpretive signage—an immersive botanical installation grounded in realism and storytelling.

The installation offers a moment of pause and reflection amid the bustle of travel. With hand-sculpted bark textures, layered branch structures, and artfully arranged foliage, this installation speaks to the spirit of Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks—a fitting tribute for the gateway city to these legendary destinations.
