International Greenscapes
NATUREMAKER®, the original creator of the sculpted tree and an International Greenscapes company, designs and fabricates custom nest treehouse structures for children’s museums, family entertainment venues, and indoor play zones. These are not standard play structures. They are hand-sculpted, steel-core botanical art pieces, engineered for durability and realism, and built to function as statement pieces that children can climb, explore, and learn in. With 40+ years of heritage in biophilic design, NATUREMAKER® has delivered more than 20,000 projects worldwide.
Fabricated in America. Trusted by museums, theme parks, and educational institutions since 1983.
A custom-fabricated steel-core tree with integrated platforms, canopy enclosures, and nest seating areas. Designed as a focal-point play structure, scaled to your space from 15 feet to 50+ feet. Hand-sculpted bark textures replicate real tree specimens at 87% botanical accuracy.
A fully immersive walk-through tree with spiral walkways, rope bridges, lookout platforms, and embedded slides. Built on a steel inner-core armature engineered to support continuous high-volume use by children and adults alike. Species, bark, and canopy are configured to your design vision.
A coordinated group of sculptural trees, root structures, and organic elements that transform a space into a complete forest play environment. Combines nest structures, fallen log elements, and ground-level root features for multi-zone exploration.
Serve as the anchor exhibit for interactive science and nature learning spaces. Structures integrate educational signage, tactile bark surfaces, and multiple discovery zones for school-age visitors.
Create a signature destination moment inside family entertainment venues. Climbable treehouses generate dwell time, repeat visits, and high-impact photo opportunities.
Scale to monumental proportions for themed environments. Built to withstand continuous throughput from large crowds while maintaining visual realism and structural integrity.
Anchor an indoor play area with a lifelike tree structure that outperforms standard commercial play equipment in both aesthetics and long-term durability.
Support botanical storytelling and environmental education with scientifically detailed bark, root, and canopy features that reinforce curriculum goals.
Bring nature-based play to resort pools, kids clubs, and family activity areas without the maintenance requirements of living trees.
Structural steel armatures are engineered to handle continuous physical contact from children and adults. Load analysis, seismic calculations, and professional engineering stamps are provided for every climbable structure.
No watering, no pruning, no replacement cycles. NATUREMAKER® nest treehouses deliver a 10-20+ year lifespan with nothing more than occasional compressed air dusting.
Every structure is fabricated to your spatial and design specifications. Species, scale, canopy density, platform placement, and play feature integration are all determined collaboratively during the design phase.
All foliage is inherently fire-retardant (IFR), meeting ASTM E84 Class A and NFPA 701 standards. Structural components are ADA compliant and RoHS certified – non-toxic and non-allergenic – suitable for children’s environments.
Built at NATUREMAKER®’s facilities in San Marcos, California; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Miami, Florida by certified welders and artisan sculptors.
NATUREMAKER® nest treehouse structures can be configured across a wide range of sizes and play feature combinations. Below are the primary structural specifications.
Custom fabricated from compact 10-15 foot interior structures to monumental assemblies exceeding 50 feet
Up to 40-50 feet depending on architectural requirements
87% botanically accurate; bark textures hand-carved from real specimen molds
Steel inner-core armature fabricated from 75% recycled steel by certified welders
Inherently fire-retardant (IFR) UltraLeaf® in custom density configurations
Spiral walkways, netted rope bridges, lookout platforms, embedded slides, hollow log elements, root climbing structures
Banyan, Oak, Birch, Baobab, Maple, Ficus, and virtually any other species
Minimum three months from design approval; complex structures may require extended timelines
Children’s environments carry some of the most rigorous fire safety and structural requirements in commercial construction. NATUREMAKER® provides complete compliance documentation for every project.
NATUREMAKER® nest treehouses function as complete play environments, not just visual features. The steel inner-core engineering used in sculptural trees is the same structural foundation that enables spiral walkways, rope bridges, embedded slides, and multi-level climbing features.
Structural play elements NATUREMAKER® can integrate include:
Share your space dimensions, design goals, and play feature requirements. No final drawings needed. Design services are complimentary until order confirmation.
Our team develops species options, structural configuration, and play feature placement. You receive professional 3D renderings before fabrication begins.
Structural calculations, seismic documentation, and code compliance are completed. A detailed proposal covers full scope, specifications, timeline, and pricing.
Certified welders build the steel inner-core armature. Artisan sculptors hand-carve bark textures. Each phase is inspected before shipment.
Our assembly crews manage delivery, structural anchoring, canopy dressing, and a final quality walkthrough. Complete compliance documentation is provided.
Yes. NATUREMAKER® has fabricated fully climbable treehouse structures for children's museums, nature centers, and family entertainment venues. The steel inner-core engineering that defines every Steel Art Tree™ is the same structural foundation used in interactive play assemblies. Structural calculations, load testing, and professional engineering stamps are provided with every climbable structure.
NATUREMAKER® fabricates structures from compact 10-15 foot interior features up to monumental assemblies exceeding 50 feet in height with canopy spans of 40-50 feet. Past children's museum projects have included a 40-foot Banyan spanning two floors and a 30-foot Live Oak with a matching 30-foot canopy - both engineered as functional, climbable exhibits.
Banyan trees are among the most popular choices for play environments because of their dramatic aerial root systems and multi-trunk forms, which naturally lend themselves to climbing features. Oak, Baobab, and Ficus are also commonly specified. NATUREMAKER® can fabricate virtually any species - selection is typically driven by your design theme and spatial requirements.
The minimum lead time is three months from design approval to delivery. Complex or monumental structures may require additional time. For high-priority projects or high-profile openings, expedited scheduling may be available. Early contact during your design or construction phase gives the most flexibility. Yes. All foliage materials are RoHS certified - non-toxic and non-allergenic. The steel construction uses commercial-grade materials fabricated by certified welders. Foliage is inherently fire-retardant (IFR) and meets ASTM E84 Class A, NFPA 701, and California Title 19 standards. Complete material testing reports are provided to support permitting.
Yes. Interactive exhibits, educational signage, and branded elements can be integrated directly into the bark, root, and canopy structures during fabrication. This approach has been used in multiple museum projects where science exhibits and nature interpretation panels are embedded throughout the tree, making the structure a functional educational tool as well as a play environment.
