Floating nearly a quarter-mile above downtown Calgary, NatureMaker’s installation at The Bow spans three dramatic sky lobbies—on the 24th, 42nd, and 54th floors of one of Canada’s most iconic skyscrapers.
This soaring vertical garden features multi-trunk birch trees ranging from 22 to 30 feet tall, carefully placed in lush, elliptical planter beds that mirror the curvature of the glass façade. The birch trees’ white trunks and high canopies add sculptural beauty and contrast to the sleek, modern architecture, while the surrounding ground-level plantings enhance the immersive, park-like feel.
Basking in natural daylight from the floor-to-ceiling windows, the trees soften the space and offer a sense of calm, seasonal beauty, and scale—creating an unexpected and unforgettable biophilic experience in the sky.
